The Columns is seeking a dependable and caring Part-Time Cook to join our team. This position is responsible for preparing delicious, nutritious meals for our residents while maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming kitchen environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve meals according to planned menus and dietary guidelines
• Follow residents’ dietary restrictions and special meal requirements
• Maintain a clean, organized and sanitary kitchen
• Follow proper food-handling and safety procedures
• Assist with receiving and storing food and kitchen supplies
• Work cooperatively with other team members
• Help create a positive dining experience for residents

Qualifications:

• Previous cooking or food-service experience preferred
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices
• Dependable, organized and able to work independently
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift kitchen supplies as needed
• Compassionate attitude and willingness to work with senior adults
• Availability to work weekends or holidays as scheduled

Maintenancy Technician

The Columns is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position helps ensure our community remains safe, comfortable and well-maintained for our residents, families and team members. The Maintenance Technician performs routine maintenance, preventative upkeep and basic repairs throughout the community while responding promptly and professionally to maintenance needs.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the community
• Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting and carpentry needs
• Complete preventative maintenance tasks and regular safety inspections
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and team members
• Maintain resident apartments, common areas, offices and outdoor spaces
• Prepare apartments for new residents as needed
• Monitor building systems and report concerns requiring professional service
• Maintain tools, equipment and maintenance supplies
• Follow all safety procedures and applicable regulations
• Keep maintenance areas clean, organized and secure
• Work cooperatively with community leadership and other team members
• Help maintain a safe, welcoming and comfortable environment for residents

Qualifications:

• Previous maintenance or general repair experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting and carpentry
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and complete repairs safely
• Dependable, organized and able to work independently
• Strong communication and customer-service skills
• Ability to stand, bend, climb ladders and lift equipment or supplies as needed
• Compassionate attitude and willingness to work around senior adults
• Availability to respond to occasional after-hours maintenance needs, weekends or holidays as scheduled
• Valid driver’s license may be required

Resident Life Associate (RLA) Part-time; Full-time

All locations (Bastrop, Bossier City, Minden, West Monroe)

The Columns is seeking a compassionate and dependable Resident Life Assistant (RLA) to join our team. This position provides personalized assistance and support to residents while helping them maintain their dignity, comfort and independence.

Responsibilities:

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including dressing, grooming, bathing and toileting
• Support residents with mobility, transfers and safe use of assistive devices
• Respond promptly and respectfully to residents’ needs
• Provide reminders and assistance according to each resident’s individualized care plan
• Observe residents and report changes or concerns to the appropriate supervisor
• Assist residents during meals and activities as needed
• Maintain clean, comfortable and organized resident living spaces
• Document services and resident information accurately
• Follow infection-control, safety and emergency procedures
• Protect residents’ privacy, dignity and personal choices
• Communicate respectfully with residents, families and team members
• Help create a warm, welcoming and supportive environment

Qualifications:

• Previous caregiving, assisted living or senior-care experience preferred
  CNA certification preferred but not required, unless required by the community
• Compassionate, patient and respectful approach to resident care
• Dependable and able to follow care plans and instructions
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to stand, bend, walk and assist with lifting or transferring residents as needed
• Willingness to complete required training and certifications
• Availability to work weekends, evenings or holidays as scheduled
